Vishnu Prayers
Vishnu is a principal deity in Hinduism, and the Supreme Being in the Vaishnavite tradition. He is known as the 'Preserver' within the Trimurti, the divine trinity that includes Brahma (the creator) and Shiva (the destroyer). Vishnu is often depicted with a blue complexion, four arms holding his characteristic symbols: the conch, discus, mace, and lotus. He is believed to descend to Earth in various avatars (incarnations) to restore dharma (righteousness) and protect the cosmos whenever evil threatens. Some of his most famous avatars include Rama, Krishna, and Buddha. He is commonly depicted resting on the cosmic serpent Shesha (Ananta) in the primordial ocean, known as Ananta-Sayana.
